Well, I got lucky and was able to purchase a Rossi World Cup Race 190 for a good price. I was a bit anxious about riding a board that long, my carving setup before the 190 was an old Hooger Tuned 168.
Well, I was able to ride the Rossi on Saturday, and I havent't had that much fun on snow for a long time. Once I got used to the speed it was a blast! The edge hold at speed on the 190 is amazing. Now I'm completely bumbed that the season is comming to an end, and we've got more snow now than we've had all season...
Sorry, like a proud new father, I just had to spew about my new baby...

Glad to hear you are getting along nicely with the big stick. Keep up the good work! Just picked up a new RadAir Tanker 200cm freeride myself. Off to Killington tomorrow (close to three feet of new snow in past week! -- hope temps stay cool!) to show it who's boss.

Ya, It's been fun. I got to ride it again a couple of days ago for a couple of hours. (Although at times I believe it was the board that was riding me, and not the other way around.) It takes a while to get used to a big sidecut after riding smaller ones for so many years. I've got a nice bruise on my left hip to prove it. I think I'm definetely going to have to upgrade the boots and binders to something stiffer eventually, but it's still been a BLAST...
P.S. We'll have to try to get some sort of an organized "Expression Session" going on here in Utah, that'll give you an excuse to come back again, and maybe we can actually dig some trenches then, although the pow days are nothing to complain about!

Hey, Skully, I'm at Grand Targhee and have about a month on
a '03 2M Tanker. It's become my favorite and I KNOW is getting
other boarders to think about stretching out on something longer
than a 163. I'd try to get down there for a session next season,
and/or hope you can make it up here for some soul snow surfing.
We finally totalled a little over 500 inches of snowfall just
before the mountain closed, overall it was a sweet winter!

PS Since someone is bound to ask, I rode hardboots and Cateks, 57F/54B.

19.5m radius. This morning's snow was surprisingly firm and fast. The board had my heart pumping on every run.Very difficult to turn at slow speeds. Also difficult to throw sideways quickly in case of an emergency. Once up to speed, it turns well. Easy toe/heel edge grabs. Excellent quickness edge to edge. Straight line tuck had the stability. I think I shit my pants a few times. Not the board to take out on a crowded day unless you have a death wish. It was an enjoyable and unique ride. Far from versatile. The bitch screams.

Subject: CMC's carves,even at speed...
I gotta say that Curt carves the way I wish I could,if I were a wee bit more limber, and a decade or so younger. In his quest for the ultimate 'big gun',CMC has taken on a board that'll challenge him to be as precise (110% of the time) as possible, while holding the speed through his carves. The sad thing to me is that Curt never got on a Madds 180cm G.S.. I did,and it still was the best board I've ever rode (for carving, that is) ,but I didn't realize just how rare it was to become,or I'd own one today (and still have my Madds 170,too).. The Big Donek is still a grand experiment, and probably still needs some 'break in time' to get the hang of. It's apparently not as forgiving as Curt's Donek 210cm,but who knows,it may just be the board to push Curt to the next level,whatever-in-the-heck That will be!

Don't send the Burner to the "Secret Hospital!" It is really just a Chapter 11 Italian restaurant with a big pizza oven, some school paste and some bricks to way the whole mess down while it "heals." LMFAO!!!
Kenneth

Can't we all get along? Look, the most important thing about riding a Mt is to have a great time. Right? Not to say I'm better than you or come on I'll take you on. I enjoyed my riding days with Curt at Stratton. Like Jack mention eariler, he is a nice guy once you know him.
Hey! Don't we all like to show off to one another? It gives us a chance to see what we look like to each other. That is what carving is all about. I do it all the time with my friends and they love it! They also do it back. It helps to improve our skills.
I love to see Vinny ride that tanker with the softies shoes. He is awesome! I love his low profile looks. I like seeing guys like Curt, Paul and others pulling a 360 carve at the end of the run! It is a great feeling. Plus I like to help other riders improve their riding so they can carve better.
Please, let us end this winter on a good note! It was a winter for the record books! Take care Bros!

No Curt, but I was wondering if that was real you. Gilmour's
too busy practicing for slalom comps, I doubt he has time for
games here. By the way, good imposter! I learned a lot. :)

That the forum show the last 2 bytes of the posting user's IP address. That would help clear up the impersonation.
For example, X.X.28.196

ohh sure, if you're determined to be a butthead, you can mask things well. You're unlikely to be able to duplicate the real cmc's ip address however as long as the forum post handler isn't stupid enough to be fooled by a spoffed packet.
and, if you're determined to be a butthead, then simple legal action and QoS logs would let us know who you are within a matter of moments.

Once you get a physical location, it's just traditional grunt work. Everyone makes mistakes... play the game long enough, you'll slip too.

User registration would solve the problem. Anonymous posting could also be allowed, but if you wanted a username other than "Anonymous" you would have to register.
Best of both worlds - people can be anonymous if they want, but they won't be able to spoof other people's usernames.

Size matters.
If you really want to have fun get on a short board and race someone on a big deck- and win.
I felt that sting many years ago at Stratton. I had a X-2000 Sims racing deck- same deck used by Craig Kelley when he won the US Open Super G. I didn't wax my board that day and some dude on a Sims Terry Kidwell round tail- blew by me- on a waxed deck.
Big boards are for big terrain. CMC get that Donek out to Sun Valley and show those guys how to deal with laying it down at 80mph. USE ALLL of your double density binding screws. I never saw a guy in a cowboy hat cry yet.

I lay them down here in NH at 74 mph (I got clocked). Granted, its only one turn at the end of a freerace (me and my friends "Hey, $5 says I'll beat you to the bottom" I usually win, but thats beside the point) Its really fun to have the lifty say "Holy shit dude, was that you that just made that ditch under my lift??!!" When you say yes you just cant help but smile. Big, fast, Downhill tuned boards rule!
